      General Info
      Dr. Nicholas Rossi earned his medical degree at Indiana University School of Medicine where he completed the Honors in Neurosciences program prior to pursuing his neurosurgery training. Dr. Rossi obtained his training with one of the largest independent neurosurgical groups in the country, the Semmes-Murphey Clinic, in Memphis, Tennessee.Memphis is home to St. Jude Children\u2019s Research Hospital where Dr. Rossi was a part of the St. Jude neurosurgery team and gained exposure to state-of-the-art technology and the most innovative neuro-oncology trials in the world.As a senior resident, Dr. Rossi pursued a dedicated complex spinal surgery fellowship training in Bristol, England, where the artificial cervical disk was invented. Here he functioned in an independent capacity working alongside both orthopedic and neurosurgical spine surgeons within the National Health System of the United Kingdom. This experience provided Dr. Rossi insight into the philosophies of spinal surgeons working within a much more cost contained system where emphasis is placed on financially mindful and conservative (nonsurgical) treatment options.Dr. Rossi is trained in the latest spinal surgery techniques including minimally invasive spinal surgery and artificial disk replacement.Dr. Rossi grew up in Illinois and attended the Illinois Math and Science Academy in Aurora. He lives in Bourbonnais with his loving wife, Brittney, and their two young children. He is the son of a surgeon and all four of his younger siblings pursued careers in medicine as well. Dr. Rossi enjoys staying physically active with running, swimming, and road cycling.Dr. Rossi is now seeing new patients at Riverside Neurosurgery Specialists.
