My son had a terrific experience at Hollis Academy. I only wish that I had started him there earlier instead of another preschool. He used to complain every morning about going to school, but two weeks after we switched him to Hollis Academy, he stopped complaining and started enjoying school. He made great friends and had caring teachers. He was so well prepared that he had an easy time when he started public school and the only complaining I heard this year was that he didn't want school to end.

I have sent two children to HAFC, my oldest who is 13 is a straight A student in her middle school. I have no doubt that she got off to a fast start in her studies because of HAFC. This is the type of place that becomes an extension of your family. I would highly recommend HAFC, and I know we will miss them all.

I LOVE HAFC! A wonderful place for your child to grow, learn and have fun! Love the entire staff that has been there the last 3 years. Caring, approachable, kind and helpful through a stressful change of going back into the work force. My son has had such a great experience here. As for the location, its great, they get to play outside like the good ole days, ride their bikes, work in the garden, play in the fenced in play area and dig in the dirt! Open concept rooms are fine and help for social interaction with all kids. Cannot say enough about the academics and social structure, he is really getting so smart and well mannered! All ready for 1st Grade!

This was my first experience bringing my child to a school (my first born). I was hoping it would be a great experience for him and was probably more nervous than he was. I have to say, I LOVE this school! The teachers are great and do their best to make every child feel comfortable and they make learning fun. I always get greeted at the door when dropping my child off and picking him up. I also always hear how his day went, whether it be good or bad. This feedback is important to me and much appreciated. I would not hesitate to recommend this school to any parent (and have!). My oldest child is entering his Kindergarten year and I look forward to sending my younger son there as well.

I highly recommend Hollis Academy to anyone looking for an intimate educational and social setting for their children. They offer a wide variety of programs to fit many needs. The owner and director work diligently to provide you with accommodations to fit your families needs. The staff do everything in their power to ensure a smooth transition for your child and family into a new school. I love the open room/door concept. I enjoy talking directly to a teacher about my child's day rather than a generated note with no intimate anecdotes about my child's day. They provide a wide curriculum and spend lots of time working with my child individually. . And keep me posted about progress, milestones, and struggle areas frequently, on top of the two formal evaluations. I definitely encourage you to check them out and give them a call. They will answer all your questions without hesitation. .

The front paved area that is blocked off is a GREAT place to play, run, ride bikes and use chalk!!!

As a parent, I do not recommend this school. They use a section of their parking lot as playground. My child comes home with bleeding knees often. It's so frustrating. They allow too much TV watching and way too much video game playing. Children from age 2.5 to 12 are all in one big room, separated into different sections. The staff is slow to greet you or your child upon your entry. Overall a very bad experience for us.

General Info
We have an open door policy for parents who are interested in exploring their options for their child's pre-school experience. You are always welcome to drop in during any of our working hours between 6:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. We want you to observe the methods our staff use to not only teach the children number, letter, and word recognition, but to also see the interaction between the staff and the children, as they play indoor games, incorporating dance and exercise to help the children to develop both physical and mental awareness. Witness the transition from academic activities, to play time, to discovery, and creative time. The children are provided with a good mix of time for playing, and time for learning. We offer a full day programs 3, 4, or 5 days a week, and a half-day program ending at 11:30 a.m. We also offer a before and after school program for school age children 6 to 12 years of age. We are dedicated to acknowledging, encouraging, and practicing a multi-cultural environment. Through love and guidance, our staff provides opportunities for each child to explore their world around them, gain independence, realize self-esteem, demonstrate self-expression, and to experience that learning is FUN.
