Established in 1893, the Hinsdale Fire Department is governed by the Village of Hinsdale in Illinois. The department provides fire prevention and suppression services. Its Citizens Fire Academy offers first-aid and public education programs for individuals above the age of 18. The Hinsdale Fire Department maintains a work force of more than 25 members. It offers emergency medical and nonemergency services. The department responds to over 2,500 emergency calls annually. It offers interactive fire safety education programs for students. The department also provides inspection services for fire extinguishers and pumps and sprinkler systems. The Hinsdale Fire Department maintains a fleet of ladder trucks, ambulances and engines.
