South Shore Conservatory is a nondegree granting community music school that provides classes and lessons for arts enthusiasts. The school operates through various departments, such as jazz and rock, piano, string, voice, woodwind, brass and audio recording. It offers a wide range of programs, including music theory preparation, music appreciation, chamber music, instrument sampler, guitar fun and advanced improvisation. In addition, the school offers private instruction for children and adults in piano, guitar, voice and the full range of orchestral instruments. It offers a variety of concerts and special events throughout the year that include student and faculty recitals, musical mystery dinners, holiday performance, outdoor concert series and annual performathon. South Shore Conservatory, established in 1970, is located in Hingham, Mass.
