I can't say enough good things about Gene Moon and the rest of the staff at Gayton Animal Hospital! They've been taking wonderful care of our pets for many years, and I trust them implicitly to make the right decisions - and, just as importantly, to help us make the best decisions in difficult and emotional times. Very compassionate. Their reception area is cheerful and spacious, and patients are immediately taken to an exam room - no sitting in a waiting area with anxious pets. This is a big plus for me.
My husband and I have used Dr. Moon or Dr. Dugan for our pets for over fifteen years, and their level of professionalism, care, and expertise is outstanding. Almost eight years ago, we adopted a kitten, who unbeknownst to us, had a serious heart murmur. Dr. Moon suggested the Goochland Animal Hospital, so we took Buffy there. They basically said that there was nothing they could do and sent us home to watch her die. Dr. Moon, however, prescribed blood pressure meds for her, and the cat lived to be almost 8 years old. It broke our hearts when she died, but Dr. Moon cared for her the entire time, even going in to check on her after hours as well as weekends. The technicians let me visit with her in the back of the clinic for as long as I wanted every day. This clinic really cares! Wendy and Elliott Spanier
