Kerr-Vance Academy, founded in 1968 and located in Henderson, N.C., offers classes from grades kindergarten through 12. It is an independent, nonsectarian, coeducational college preparatory day school, and serves more than 350 students. The school offers a wide range of subjects, such as foreign language, mathematics, science, social studies, business studies, family and consumer science, industrial and information technology and arts and physical education. Its library offers a wide collection of books on various subjects, such as language, science and technology and arts and audiovisual materials. The school s athletic department offers football, pole vault, basketball, lacrosse, cross-country, and track and field. It has a parent-teacher association that assists in various school programs and activities. The school provides health care, counseling, meal and transportation services to students.
