Provided by YP.comI love Mexican food a lot. My parents took me to a lot of South MS tex-mex places in Hattiesburg when I was little. By high school, I hated mexican rice and beans. No matter where I went, it was always served luke-warm and hard or scalding and blanched. Until I went to Mama Alma's. It is pricey but I will gladly pay extra for a local family-run restaurant than save $10 by going to a chain joint. The salsa always tastes fresh and the queso is the best I've had - it actually has a flavor other than melted cheese in a bowl. My tamale wasn't soggy! The quesadillas are huge. The rice and beans I could eat all day long. Ask her for her daily specials - the plantain empanada was a wonderful surprise.
