I took a friend out to dinner tonight and decided to try Las Palmas. I was a big fan of Mateo's Mexican Restaurant which occupied the same building for many years. Las Palmas is a BIG disappointment. Salsa was spicy but not tasty, enchiladas had very little filling, drowned with red sauce and a bit of cheese on top. My friend had steak fajitas which had no seasoning on it all. The only thing that was good were the drinks. When our waiter asked how the food was and we told him, the only comment was "I'm so sorry". We were not even given a choice to make another selection, although I can't imagine anything else being better. The prices are a bit hefty for Mexican food. Our bill totaled $52 with tip and we each had only 1 drink. Needless to say, one visit to this restaurant was more than enough.
