      Harrisonburg Parks and Recreation is located in and managed by the city of Harrisonburg in Virginia. The department has various facilities, including parks, art and craft halls, an activities center and swimming pools. The city s parks include Hillandale, Kiwanis, Westover, Purcell, Morrison, Ralph Sampson and Riven Rock parks. It also has a skating park for children. It also organizes a variety of sports, such as softball, basketball, tennis, in-line hockey, fishing, bowling, disc golf, and track and field. The department has swimming pools that include Olympic-sized, diving and children s pools. It organizes various social and recreational activities, including gardening, sports competitions, dances, games, picnics and trips. The department additionally organizes events, such as First Baptist Choir, folk dances, Christmas celebrations and holiday parades.
