Village Tavern Restaurant & Inn

I live locally and enjoy bringing out of town guests to the Village Tavern. It is unique for this area. The menu is extensive and the beer and wine selection is excellent. The live music is tasteful and never loud. Hammondsport is a quaint village and the Tavern is a very fitting part of it.

The village of Hammondsport is gorgeous - the Village Tavern is trashy. The service is lacking to say the least. Our blond bimbo of a hostess would not seat us at a booth, even though we requested it due to my husbands back problems. She was rude and obviously in a bad mood (or hungover by the unkempt look about her). We vacation in Hammondsport twice a year, have been for 40 years - the wineries and lake are great! If you want the real Hammondsport experience, go to one of the more quaint restaurants - Park Inn for a fresh sandwich, cold beer and sweet service or the new pizza shop, Wineguys for a mouth watering white pizza. The Waterfront on the lake is a great place to have appetizers and a glass of local wine. Don't waste your time at the Village Tavern, with high prices, sloppy food presentation and snotty atmosphere. - Julie

Great food, atmosphere & service! Live music on the weekends. Over 130 beers. Received Wine Spectators "Award of Excellence" since 1995 and awarded "Restaurant of the Year" by the NY State Wine & Grape Foundation. Beautiful nightly rooms with private bathrooms, coffee makers, mini-fridges and fireplaces. Make reservations since this place is a favorite for locals and tourists!
