      Washington County Community Action Council has been operational since 1965. The council offers case management and housing services. It offers a variety of supportive, transitional, placement, service-linked and affordable rental housing programs. Washington County Community Action Council provides a rental allowance program that offers rental subsidies to at-risk individuals and homeless families. The council provides housing information and search, referral and placement assistance services. It has a staff of trained and certified professionals who offer prepurchase and mortgage default counseling, and landlord and tenant mediation services. Washington County Community Action Council also provides budget counseling and affordability analysis and assistance services. The council is located in Hagerstown, Md.
