Purchased a guinea pig, which seemed in great health at the time of purchased, that ended up having a mite infection. This is an infection that they get from the store, not your home. It costed me around $150 to get it taken care of, but since I did not go through the vet that Petco contracts with, they offered no reimbursement whatsoever. So, instead of taking my guinea pig 5 minutes down the road to Banfield inside of PetSmart, I'm expected to take it 45 minutes to the Vet that THEY approve. If your pet gets an infection from the store of purchase, you would think they would take responsibility of it as long as your provided the medical papers. Highly disappointed in the customer service and unwillingness to offer any compensation.

Petco on pleasantburg sells infected guinea pigs and does not offer compensation for medical bills unless you, contact them first, and go through THEIR vet. My guinea pig had a mite infection, which are infections they get from the store, not your home. We noticed it a week after having her. You would think regardless of where you go, as long as you have proof of medical diagnosis and receipts they would take responsibility of something that was their fault in the first place. Not pleased at all, terrible customer service.

I called this petco to ask about turtles and this woman in customer service was the RUDEST rep I have ever dealt with. Not giving this place my business.

I haven't shopped the one on Pleasantburg, but the new store on Woodruff. All I can say is WOW! Definitely not a big box feeling walking in! The staff is friendly, the selection is much greater than other's I had been in in the past. Stop in and check them out. From small animals to fish, the guys working there know their stuff! SO refreshing!
