- Teeth CleaningSedation is available for any procedure. Don't let fear stand between you and your beautiful, healthy smile! Some guests choose to be sedated only for extensive work, or procedures (which are quite comfortable, but often feared). High-fear guests may wish to be sedated during routine appointments such as teeth cleaning or whitening.
- FillingsAs a dedicated holistic dentist, Dr. Palmer is one of the few professionals trained in the safe removal of amalgam fillings. He uses IAOMT (International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology) established procedures, and maintains awareness that anything affecting your mouth also affects your whole body. Advanced laser technology and ozone therapy are among the safe and surgery-free techniques employed to treat periodontal (gum) disease.
- Resin CompositeMercury detoxification simplified A mercury detox is a specialized process that is used to remove mercury from the body. When guests have silver mercury fillings(amalgams) in their mouth, they are already at risk of mercury toxicity. The first step in ensuring the guest is safe from mercury is to start with the removal and replacement of these amalgam fillings. Many dentists still place them, even though continued research shows the negative impact they can have on one’s body. Drs. John Palmer, and Debra Adams of Palmer Distinctive Dentistry in Greenville, SC have stopped using these fillings as recommended by the IAOMT (International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology), and instead utilize safer alternatives such as BPA Free composite resin, or porcelain restoration. This is the first step in mercury detoxification. After this, guests can continue to work with their medical practitioner to achieve a mercury-free body. This may include elements such as medical treatment, home remedies, and even services available through our practice such as the MerProtect™ Protocol. Drs. John Palmer, and Debra Adams work closely with guests to ensure they are enjoying a healthy smile and body through their dental health!
- VeneersPorcelain veneers We can change the size, shape, color, angle, and spacing of your teeth with veneers. They are extremely thin, and bonded to the visible surface of the tooth. Although veneers may be fabricated of other materials, porcelain is ideal. It is extremely hard, perfectly safe, and stunningly beautiful! Porcelain is considered the premier choice for perfectly mimicking the light handling, reflectivity, and coloration of natural tooth material.
- CrownsDr. Palmer and his staff demonstrated courtesy, great concern for my comfort and attention to every detail in my recent visit. I loved the in and out in 1 1/2 hours to remove an old crown and receive a new one. The numbing agent was administered only with slight discomfort, no impression was needed, no temporary crown and no return visit with Dr. Palmer's state of the art equipment which also designed the crown via his specifications from a computer by my side and other equipment that actually "made" the crown in 20 minutes while I relaxed and watched a movie of my choice!
- BridgesBridges For fixed bridges we use Zirconia, a beautiful material with exceptional strength. Unless an especially large number of teeth are being replaced (requiring a long span), Zirconia is equivalent or superior to metal bridges for fracture resistance. The adjacent teeth must be reduced and crowned to support the bridge. We recommend dental implants as an alternative because they have no impact on healthy teeth and can last a lifetime.
- Dental BondingRestorations Crowns, bridges, inlays, or onlays may be used to achieve full cosmetic and functional restorations. The best choice depends on the extent and nature of the damage. We fabricate most restorations right here in our office, completing the entire procedure in a single visit. We use the finest porcelain and ceramic materials, precision sculpted for beautiful results. Tooth colored fillings or dental bonding may be used to repair smaller areas of damage, with equally beautiful results.

- Root Canal TreatmentWhile many guests know what a cavity is, many are unfamiliar with dental cavitations. Dental cavitations are infections of the jaw bone. A hole can be present after a tooth is removed and can become a progressive disease that impacts the smile, including reduced blood supply to the jawbone and holding of heavy metals and chemicals that can harm the body. Dental abscesses associated with failing root canal treated teeth are also cavitations.
- DenturesBenefits of dental implants Guests of Palmer Distinctive Dentistry choose dental implants when they want to regain the highest degree of natural functionality after tooth loss. There are several advantages to this procedure compared to conventional restorative care such as dentures. With implants, the stability necessary for comfortable chewing and biting exists. There is no risk that a restoration will slide out of place or rub against the gums like it can happen with dentures. When one or more teeth are replaced using implants, the need to alter healthy tooth structure is eliminated.
- Dental ImplantsAs the success rate of dental implants has become more obvious, this innovative root replacement procedure has gained popularity among dentists and their guests. Dental implants are tiny posts, typically made of titanium, which are inserted into the jawbone in a painless procedure. Understanding the potential for negative side effects from metal, Dr. Palmer performs dental implant treatment with Z-Look3 implants as a healthy, non-toxic alternative.
