- Dental ExaminationA full comprehensive exam will be completed as well as any necessary x-rays. If parents specified they want a cleaning done, we will try our best to get this accomplished for the family.
- Fluoride TreatmentThere is no question that fluorides reduce dental decay. But parents often wonder whether or not there are additive effects of fluoride. In other words, are fluoride treatments at the dentist’s office beneficial when there is fluoride in the water? Are fluoride mouth rinses helpful when there is fluoride in the toothpaste?
- Dental SealantsHighly effective in preventing decay on the biting surfaces of your child’s chewing teeth, sealants are a simple procedure in which a tooth-colored “coating” is painted onto the surface of the tooth. This will ‘seal’ the high risk areas from decay.
- Fillings
- CrownsIf a tooth has been broken, or weakened by a lot of decay or a large filling, a crown (or cap) can be fitted to strengthen it. Crowns are shaped like natural teeth. For teeth near the front of the mouth, crowns are usually made of metal or zirconia. Crowns on back teeth are made of metal.
- Oral Surgery
- Jaw SurgeryPacifiers can also be a factor in developing future bite problems. After the age of 7 months, a child’s sucking needs decrease so we recommend reducing the use of a pacifier by age 2. Research shows that extended use of a pacifier leads to misalignment of the teeth as well as alterations in some oral structures. Pacifier use has also been shown to increase the risk of your child developing an ear infection, as well as very involved orthodontic (braces) including jaw surgery.
- Tooth Extractions
- OrthodonticsA: Early orthodontics can enhance your child’s smile, but the benefits far surpass appearance. Pediatric orthodontics can straighten crooked teeth, guide erupting teeth into position, correct bite problems, even prevent the need for tooth extractions. Straight teeth are easier to keep clean and less susceptible to tooth decay and gum disease.
- Invisalign OrthodonticsInvisalign can sometimes be an alternative to traditional orthodontic treatment. Invisalign is an advanced clear aligner system. The aligners are removable and virtually invisible. There are no wires and brackets so you don’t need to change the way you brush and floss.
