I had volunteered in 2009 to wrap presents for Christmas at this shelter out of the goodness of my heart. They say they help you when in tough times. well just yesterday January 3, 2012 I called them asking about community service if they will allow me to. She said yes then paused and asked is it voluntarly or court ordered. I responded with court ordered. She then responded with sorry we are not taking those right now. Whats the difference its free service anyway right? I have donated volunteered for them in the past and have donated money over time. But yet they can't help a Veteran who yes I admit having a drinking problem, I wasn't looking at staying there. I have my own place I have gone through all the treatment and have been sober for over 10 months and 3 days. How can you help out the community when all that shelter does is looks down the bridge of there nose? They didn't care to ask why I had to do the Community service, I messed up on day that I lost my license by one day.
