I am a 30-year old female, in good health, and knowledgeable about fitness.

I'll break my review down into pros & cons, so you can decide for yourself:

PROS:

1) Open 24 hours

2) Access into center during after hours requires the scan of a valid member key fob

3) Friendly manager, who is nice and may leave out fresh fruit or other treats

4) Two bathrooms, each with shower

5) "alarm" buttons located on wall in case you need help

6) Small membership discount for area Law Enforcement and Fire/Rescue personnel (discount is 10% off monthly fee)

CONS:

1) Ridiculously expensive. Appx $40/month membership fees. I don't see a reason why, either, as there's no staff other than the Manager.

2) Membership requires contract (Mine was 2 years!)

3) Only staff member is the Manager. Nobody to ask for help on equipment use, etc.

4) The entrance doesn't make any "beep" or tone alerting you that someone just came in the door. I wouldn't miss this feature, but I've known other ATF locations that had it, and as a female working out all by herself late at night, it was nice to "hear" that a person had just come in, so I was instantly made aware that I wasn't alone in the club.

5) Not exactly sure who those "alarm buttons" alert... Talking to local law enforcement, they weren't even aware that those buttons existed.

6) No "land line" for emergency calls. I don't always bring my phone with me. If I need help, or to call 911 for a medical emergency, I'd have no phone.

7) EXTREMELY small "general use" area for stretching/ab work/etc. No more than one person could comfortably use the area.

8) Treadmills FACE A BLANK WALL. Fun.

9) Crowded free-weight area. Two guys couldn't be doing dumbell flies on the bench next to one another.

10) Location is at the end of a strip mall. No other surrounding businesses are open after 10pm. Parking lot becomes very dark at night. No drive by traffic. Very nerve wracking and at times scary for a female walking to her car after a good workout at 1am.

11) Speed of channels changing on the built-in televisions on cardio equipment is slooooowwww and extremely frustrating. So frustrating that I started just reading magazines instead.

12) Member feedback binder sits on the entrance table for members to ask questions/make suggestions/etc... but who knows if management ever reads it? Got no replies from any of my questions/suggestions...

13) No mirror in general use area to watch form.
