      Dr. Schierling received his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. He then went to medical school at Texas A&M University Health Science Center College of Medicine in College Station, Texas and general surgery residency at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas. Dr. Schierling is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the North Texas Chapter of the American College of Surgeons, American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, and Dallas County Medical Society. Dr. Schierling has been a practicing General Surgeon since 2009 and has been practicing in Las Colinas since 2011. He is excited to continue his career with Surgical Group of North Texas, still offering surgical services in Las Colinas, but expanding to the surrounding areas as well. Dr. Schierling enjoys minimally invasive surgical techniques such as laparoscopic and robotic surgery. He has performed over 600 robotic surgeries with over 400 of those being single site robotic surgeries. He also proctors other surgeons as they are learning robotic techniques. He has extensive experience in endocrine surgery, hernia surgery, anterior retroperitoneal exposure for spine surgery, and all aspects of general surgery. Dr. Schierling also offers comprehensive in-office vein care treatment, both for varicose veins and spider veins. If a patient has any symptoms of discomfort or unsightly veins in their legs, he can assess, diagnose, and treat to improve quality of life and appearance, all in a clinic setting. Radiofrequency Ablation of venous insufficiency, Ambulatory Phlebectomy for varicose veins and Sclerotherapy for small veins are all available in the Grapevine office. Steve Schierling was born in Saskatchewan, Canada and raised in a small farming community. His family moved to Texas as he was graduating high school.
