Ottens roofing replaced my roof last week. They did a great job! Scott even repaired an area I hadn't originally asked to be repaired. He took the extra time to do it. The work was done well and in a timely matter. The area was cleaned after each day. He used quality materials and I know my roof is secure for many years to come! I would highly recommend Ottens!

My experience with Otten's Custom Roofing was positive from start to finish. When it was time for a new roof on my home, I decided that it would be best to get several estimates. Otten's Custom Roofing's professionalism and the quality materials they use stood out from the others. The free estimate I was given was very reasonable, and that was what I was charged when the job was completed. In addition, they didn't require me to take time off from work and be there to provide me with an estimate unlike most of their competitors. Their crew was extremely hardworking, friendly, and they took pride in the doing the job quickly and well, down to and including clean up. I have received many compliments on the work they did and I could not be happier with the results. I would highly recommend Otten's Custom Roofing to anyone looking for a good, reputable, and very dependable roofing company.

I was so careful in choosing a roofing contractor to replace my roof because it's such an expensive job to have done; I wanted the very best since I didn't want to pay later for mistakes they made. But the problem was, I wanted the very best for the very least amount of money. And that is very, very, very hard to find. But I found that with Otten's Custom Roofing. They did an absolutely beautiful job on my house and shed roofs. Not only that, but they were also meticulous in finding other things that needed attention, and didn't charge me a lot for them either. For example, they found 16 different boards on the roof deck that were rotted out under the previous roof, so they replaced those with new boards, and for a very minimal fee per board. Additionally, and this was a HUGE lifesaver as it would have created mold had they not identified the issue and fixed it, they actually found out the reason why my previous shingles had been flying off all in one spot on my roof. They found out that it was because my bathroom vent was not venting outside through a vent in the roof like it should have been. It was venting into the attic, therefore warping the wood from all that vapor/moisture from hot showers. The warped wood was causing the shingle nails to come out and no longer stay in place. With the nails coming out of the shingles, they were easily blown off in a windstorm, which is exactly what was happening over the past few years; every storm would cause five or ten shingles to fly off into my yard (which I had Otten's fix every time and again, they did a phenomenal job). So they identified that problem, explained it to me in a way I could understand, and fixed it for a very cheap price! Now the bathroom vent properly vents out of the roof and there's a nice new vent on the roof to prove it! And now I don't have the water vapor on my bathroom window anymore! Not only that, Otten's also fixed my gutters, again for a very cheap price tacked onto the total invoice. They basically tiled them ever so slightly in one direction (called repitching) so that the water would flow out properly into the downspout since one side of the gutter was missing a downspout (basically to avoid water just sitting in the gutters if that makes sense). You can't even tell they're tilted unless you really look closely and someone tells you, but now it's great because the water flows in the direction it needs to in order to compensate for one side of the gutter missing a downspout (just another treasure left behind by the previous homeowners). I just love Otten's Roofing. And the roofers themselves are also very professional and nice. And they clean up beautifully when they leave. I would highly recommend Otten's Custom Roofing. I recommended them to my mom, and they even saved her thousands of dollars because she wanted her garage roof replaced because she thought it was too old, and they came out and looked at it, and told her that it's fine; it's actually in really good shape and there are no warped boards underneath that they can see. So they actually saved her money by telling her the truth, that her garage roof didn't really need replacing. How RARE is that in a company! Go with Otten's Custom Roofing and you won't have buyer's remorse like you might if you go with another roofer.

Very impressed with Otten's Custom Roofing. Yes, it was that time again for a new roof. There are many to choose from in the Yellow Pages, or you might get TV adds for roofing,windows,siding, and whatever companies. About 5 years ago, a friend had his roof done and the company that did was Otten's Custom Roofing. Otten's was recommend to him by a local realtor. Otten's did a fabulous job on his house and garage. ( complete tear down and install ) I called for an estimate, and Scott Otten came over, took a look around, took some pictures, and within a few days I got a great quote. Thought I might have to wait awhile to get the job done, but shortly got a call and the next day the crew was there. It only took 1 and a half days to complete the job. (complete tear down and install ) The crew did a great job with the roofing and clean up. About a day or 2 after the job, I noticed some staining on some of the shingles, and I called Scott about it. He shortly had a crew member come over to take a look, and all the stained shingles were replaced. This is the roofing company to go for. I highly recommend Otten's Custom Roofing.

I'd highly recommend Otten's Custom Roofing! They were extremely professional, did a wonderful job on the roof and gutters and left my place very clean afterwards. I have a dog and was concerned about nails, etc and I have yet to find one leftover in my yard! I was very appreciative of that! The roof looks fantastic and the new gutters with shields look great as well! They actually were able to come a week early as I had a flexible schedule and they had a last minute opening. I appreciated him calling and seeing if it was ok for them to come. I would recommend him to my friends, neighbors, and others that are looking for a new roof/gutters!

We love our new roof! We own an older home and the roof needed lots of work, including a new deck and updating the old vents. The crew had it finished and cleaned up in one day. It looks great! Otten's Custom Roofing was better then I could have expected. I was really in a pinch having a leak in my roof and was pretty anxious. Scott came and took a look and immediately found the problem. He explained all my options and we ended up going with a repair. They did the repair and the crew was very polite, the area was kept really clean and I was very pleased with the results. I would defintely recommend this company to anyone in need of a roofer.

I was more than satisfied with Otten Roofing. Job was quoted...a date was set...7:30 am start time, and they were there as promised! 4 person crew was professional and respectful of my property at all times. By the time the job was finished I would never have known they were there except for my new roof, which looks great by the way. I used Otten Roofing via a recommendation, and would not hesitate a bit to recommend them again! A job well done!

The owner was really accessible. I emailed and called and he was always back to me within a few hours. The pricing was fair and I felt like I was getting good value for my money. This company was very professional. I liked the fact that they were licensed and that they've been in business so long. You could tell they take pride in their workmanship. I would definitely recommend Otten's Custom Roofing.

He came out on a Sat after I called for an emergency leak. He showed up as promised. From what I got from the conversation, he was to reseal TWO skylights and the vents nearby (I have a witness who heard TWO skylights). He does not give an exact time when he'll do it, just that he'll get us in this week.



Wednesday comes and I heard nothing, so I emailed. I get a short response that is vague and is still 'some time this week'.



Friday is still a no-show. It's been raining on and off all week and weekend with no repair. The inside ceiling is literally falling down at this point. I email him on Sat or Sun and this is the response I got:

"I'm so sorry, I planned on doing it Friday and forgot all about it, we will stop out Monday." You have GOT to be kidding me! You forgot?



Monday comes (I'm at work) and we get one skylight done, not two. Looking back at the proposal, I saw it only said one skylight. Can't really fight that, but still frustrating.



He didn't leave an invoice...he mailed it ($225) which arrives at the tail end of March, maybe April. He didn't even have the decency to make an adjustment on the quote price because he FORGOT about us. ANY good business owner would have realized they made a mistake and compensated for it, but no. It says 'payable upon presentation'. There's absolutely no due date other than that. I have never gotten an invoice that said that, so I assumed as long as it was paid within a month or so it was fine. I've never had that be a problem.



I get a voicemail last week with him saying he's going to have to file a claim or whatnot on the unpaid bill. Had he ASKED about it, I would have more than happily paid faster (we had a money crisis at the time). I call to explain why I hadn't paid and that I would that day and he said 'I have to go, I have another call' extremely rude-like. At that point I was so upset I told him I wouldn't use his business again and he said 'That's fine' and hung up on me. RUDE.
