The "manager" would not allow a same day return on an item purchased that had a part break within the first 5 minutes of use. His words were "you can't return tools. You bought it so it is yours now." This return policy doesn't line up with what is listed on the ace hardware website but it doesn't surprise me that this place plays by their own rules. He came across as rude and uncaring. I was actually thinking about making this the place I shop for my personal and work related hardware tools/items but that won't be happening now. Looks like I'm not the first to experience this type of service at this place.
The owner of Duncan Ace Hardware is very rude and has no customer service at all. He is a grumpy old man. On Jan 26 2017 I was in the store and witness him being very rude to a older lady all because her debit card got decline and she didn't have the money to pay for a key. And she told him she would be back to get the key. And he said I just cut a key and waste my money and threw the key on the counter. On Jan 27 2017 I brought the wrong item and I had my receipt and he said he couldn't give me my money back. He doesn't know how to run a business. I will never shop there again or anyone I know.

I have dealt with this hardware store for years. I have never had a bad experience. they have always been more than helpful. As a women I can go in and tell them what I need to do & they tell me what I need and how to do it. without treating me like I am an idiot.

I have never been treated with more disrespect than I was during 2 separate visits to this place. I've been in business for over 30 years and I never saw the need to treat a paying customer like a piece of dirt. I had to leave quickly for fear that I would lose my temper. In today's world this behavior is what makes everything worse. These people don't deserve the privelege of owning a business.
