Oh, yummy. Our company has probably eaten everything on the menu at least once.
The salads are great, crisp, dressing on the side, marvelous greens, and anything else you ask for in them.
My serious passion is the Smiler, even the name is good. It's an egg salad sandwich gone to heaven. Bacon crumbles on the bottom (real bacon, not weird stuff), then tons of really good egg salad, and then....sweet pickled jalapenos on top. Just a sec, I have to wipe the drool off my keyboard.
Then there is the grilled cheese, again, magnified in flavor x10. It comes on marble bread, has onions and bacon (yes, again with the bacon). The only thing it needs is a side cup of tomato soup, which, sadly, they don't carry. That's why God made the grocery store I guess.
Anyway, it's worth a trip, from anywhere!

My family and I go to Tatum's almost every weekend. The cheesesteaks are great, and the homemade chips are to die for! We've been going here for the last several years, and still love it. Give the cheesesteaks a try, but don't overlook the other items on the menu - they have lots of great food.

I have been eating at this place for years, before they were Tatum's.
I work in an office and everytime a visitor comes into town we get the delivery from here. My guests RAVE about how great their food is.
yeah, sometimes it takes a while to get your order. That means EVERYONE wants them to cook thier lunch. If the place were dead, you should worry.
As far as the nasty posts made below, it looks like a group of kids were trying to get this girl fired. Look at the date and the user names, all about this girl/staff. Karma guys, Karma. It is a treat for me to get my lunch from here.

Let me say, reguarding the comment below...this deli's employee's only started wearing 'Tatum's t-shirts' a few months ago. Please do your research before rating. So, yes, before that the female employee's dressed inappropriate. This is not a place to take the family.

Wow - I feel compelled to write a review after reading the ones from the group below. I don't know if they were having a bad day or what, but I've been in Tatum's many times and have never seen the girl at the counter treat anyone badly! She's always smiling and makes you feel at home. Besides that, they all wear Tatum's t-shirts, so I'm not sure how they could manage to come up with that extremely personal slam below. The food there is great (as always)! They do sometimes get busy, but that's to be expected when the food is so good! If I'm in a big hurry, I usually call ahead. Keep it up, Tatums!
I think the restaurant is posting reviews to make themselves look good, because the service at this place is horrible. And I don't know if the last post is talking about the same girl that took my order, but she was dirty, rude and was NOT dressed for a work enviroment at all. She herself is a health code violation!
If you're looking for a place were you don't mind the staff calling you names and giving you dirty looks, this is all yours. The girl at the front taking orders dress's like her night job is on the corner of east colfax and will make you fear that if she touches your food you might catch an STD. Oh, and if you don't know how to order off of their ""menu"" you get dirty looks and called foul names by the staff under their breath. I DO NOT suggest this place to anyone until they get new staff.

So, I'm not sure if we're talking about the sam Tatum's as the angry guy, but the one in Golden next to 7-11, is fantastic! They are always so nice, and the food is great. They have a variety of sandwiches and the cheesteaks are unbeatable. Try the Smiler- it sounds weird but it's a terrific combo. They do get busy because they are so good, but it's certainly worth the wait. I highly recommend it!

When I used to go to Bilg's, I thought I had found the very best cheese steak in town. Don't get me wrong, I still think that's true, but now that it's Tatum's it has become so much more. The menu has expanded to include great Muffaletta's, awesome stromboli's (you have to try their new Cheese Steak Stromboli, bring a friend, it's huge!), burgers, fresh salads, and they have even added the authentic (made with Cheez Whiz) version of the Cheese Steak for which they are so well known. Cheez Whiz? That's how they get them in Philly! I eat there at least once a week and when I show up after 12:00 noon, there is usually a line at the counter, but it moves very quickly. This is a popular joint, and I have come to know and become friends with the staff over the years. They just love it when I bring my kids in. So do my kids for that matter. I think this is a great place with great food and wonderfully consistent levels of service. I don't think I am alone in my opinion that the girl behind the register is pretty easy on the blinkers, always with a smile and something fun to say. The owner, Jeanne always flirts with me when I come in, and I occasionally get a big hug.
I recommend Tatum's Touch of Philly as a really hip, cool, excellent place to grab a quick lunch, or just hang out and watch people. They draw a great crowd. Except, I guess, that guy who just slammed them for being slow and rude. Everybody makes a mistake now and then, and this is a sandwich shop... sounds like that guy might have shown up with a little chip on his shoulder that day.

I used to enjoy this place quite a bit years ago, but had a pretty bad experience today. Went and ordered a cheese-steak for dine in, then waited for 20 min, the girl that took our order then came and said that our ticket had been lost, so she retook our order. OK thats fine, sh*t happens, I understand. But there were a few key points that made the situation unacceptable. First, 4 people who arrived after us received there orders before our allegedly ""lost ticket"" was realized. Then our re-order ticket was put in the back of the line, so 3 more people, who arrived after us, received their orders before we did. When it was all said and done we had waited 45 min for two cheese-steaks, and they were really not that busy I believe that we were discriminated against because I failed to tip when we bought our sandwiches. The girl at the counter was in the back talking to the cook for most of our wait, and was very unfriendly the rest of the time. I won't return to this place again, the sandwiches were very mediocre also. Next time I'll go to South Philly Cheasesteaks.

The cheesesteaks and Italian subs really are like the east coast! You can also get Tastycakes and Taylor porkroll! The staff is cool, plus they are COP friendly! It's the corner deli! Only thing missing is the fat Italian guy throwing around pizza dough. Hahaha!
""Ok... a number one... and a liter of cola. Its for a COP."" Not at Tatums!

I have only eaten there twice. Both times food was Awesome. Love there homemade chip. I didn't have to wait 30-45 minutes more like 10 minutes. If you are expecting Subway or Quiznos speed of service then go there, but if you are wanting a great sandwich it's worth the few minutes wait. Also, I just asked them to fax over and order form so that I could call in an order and the fax came right away.
