Beer battered chicken was delicious. Service not so great. There were 8 of us. We got served at different times. Difficulty getting drinks refreshed etc.
You are walking in the Westgate complex in Glendale. You can see the huge University of Phoenix football stadium, where the 2008 Super Bowl was played, a block away, the Jobing.com sports arena (Phoenix Coyotes + many major concerts) is 100 feet away. You are watching the water show from the Bellagio inspired fountains. Life is good. You then see the black and white neon of a tilted martini glass with the business name of Bar Louie. With both indoor and outdoor tables, facing the fountains, you walk in the front door. The place looks inviting. You are greeted by friendly hostesses, you feel the warm decor, see the big bar and the multiple big screen TV's. Sports bar, right? No. You then pick up the drink menu and find a large selection of martinis that include some very good ones. Add to that 20 beers on tap and a decent wine listing, plus the standard mixed drinks and you are settling in. By now, either Mark or Devon, the franchise owners, Trevor or Brian have greeted you and made you feel welcome. Pretty nice place so far. "I'm hungry", you say. Bar Louie doesn't have just ordinary sports bar food. They have blackened and grilled fish and chicken dinners that are unique and delicious. If you enjoy the place into the evening, Bar Louie has a DJ come in. They move some tables around and now they have jamming music and a dance floor. You have found a new, one stop destination for a spectrum of entertainment within the entertainment spectrum of the major Westgate complex. It is a great place to enjoy it all. You'll be glad you wandered in.
