Just got back from Romeo's Euro Cafe (visiting Phoenix and went to Romeo's based on CitySearch reviews). The cafe is primarily lunch and dinner, with entrees around the $18-20 range (though they come with choice of soup or salad). The menu is HUGE. They have several pages packed full of creatively named nouveau cuisine appetizers, salads, entrees, and desserts. We needed a full 15 minutes to decide on what we wanted to eat (Chicken Astoria for me, Farfalle pesce for my wife, and Sunshine Beef for our friend). We started with an appetizer of Feta cheese, Kalamata olives, pita bread (really good, too), tomatoes, and onions. Unfortunately, though they have an impressive wine selection, our server was not very helpful in recommending a wine for my wife's dinner, so she ended up with a standard white wine. Also, they have a decent selection of bottled beer, but no beer on tap, and no Dos Equis? (who doesn't have XX nowadays?) Not a huge deal, though. The portions were really large, and none of us made hardly a dent in our meals. The food was really good, with a creamy marsala sauce smothering a ham covered chicken breast, and topped off with veggies (asparagus, green beans) and linguine. Mmm. But I could only eat about a third of the dish. Honestly, this is one of those rare situations where I would actually suggest that the restaurant make their portions smaller and perhaps charge a little less for them, too. That's just way too much food. The desserts looked really fantastic, but we had so much entree that we just couldn't do dessert. I strongly recommend Romeo's Euro Cafe. A bit expensive, but lots of selection and large portions guarantee you won't go home hungry or feeling short changed.

Romeo's food never fails to please the senses. The dishes are original, delicious and satisfying. This is cuisine that you will crave and keep coming back to. You can make a whole meal out of the fantastic appetizers - try the spicy lamb potatoes or the feta dill fritters for a hearty starter or for something lighter the Greka (warm sauteed olives, garlic & peppers with feta!) or Foccacia De La Provencia. Romeo's make their own gyro in house - guaranteed it is the best gyro you will try in the Valley! The salad selection is amazing - 18 & counting! And, bring your appetite for the entrees - there will be enough to share or take home for lunch. Some favorties are the Tortellini Gianni, the Pork Molise and the Goat Shrimp, and for the meat & potato lovers - the schnitzel is a must. Anfd if you do not have room for dessert - get it to go. All the cakes and pastries are made in house and are scrumptious.
The wine list is exciting and ever changing - not your every day wines in this restaurant. Romeo is a true oenophile and will gladly recommend the best wine for your meal. Try one of the monthly wine pairings - 4 courses with matched wines - this is where Romeo's creativity really shines.
Go to the Euro Cafe for a meal that you will not soon forget - great food in a cozy atmosphere and good vino. It is well worth the drive to Gilbert.

The menu was incrediable for the size of this tiny little quaint cafe. The portions were very generous and tasted out of this world. This resturuant has a huge selection of deserts that are made right there. We had the Dangerous Dilima. Beyond words!
This is must go to resturuant

A wide range of outstanding choices with a Mediterranean flair make this bistro the best place to dine in Gilbert. The extensive menu includes fish, poultry, lamb, and beef all prepared with old world style and attention to detail. Save room for the fine selection of home made pasteries for dessert and if you time it right, Anna will be your server. Anna made my dining experience all the better with her attentive service and the way she made my daughter and I feel right at home.
Romeo's Euro Cafe is a great choice for a night out on the town or a leisurely weekend afternoon meal.

We never miss this place when we are in Phoenix. It's one of our top 10 favorites nationwide. If you are looking for something 'different' you won't be disappointed. From the ravioli salad to the Greek salad and the french fries w/feta dressing to the assorted pitas, the medley of flavors has kept us coming back. The prices are very reasonable for the size of the portions. We always have leftovers for another meal.
One warning: Euro Cafe caters to people with an adventurous palate. If you are craving 'meat & taters' you will probably be happier at Denny's.
