I became a fan of Cuquitas in 1999 when I first moved to Dallas. They were located on Henderson with what I considered the next best thing to mama's cooking. Unfortunately after losing their lease they moved to a really bad location on Lake June Rd and the quality of the Cuquitas brand began to suffer. That location closed down. I have since been to the restaurant in Garland and I must say, the restaurant itself is beautiful but the last few times I have eaten here I have been disappointed and underwhelmed. There is nothing worse than bland Mexican food. Even the tostadas seemed like pieces of fried cardboard. Is there no more quality control? Who is supervising in the kitchen? If you want quality authentic Mexican food go elsewhere because it is no longer found here. I wish things would go back to the way they were before like it was on Henderson - great chips, great salsa, great FOOD and beautiful roses in a vase with lemons! THAT was Cuquitas not whatever it has evolved into now. Let me know when things go back to the the way they were so that I can return, otherwise "hasta la vista baby. "

This was our first visit and our last visit. The food was terrible. The sour cream enchiladas were not edible at all. The refried beans were sloppy and soupy and the salsa was way too hot for the average American. We told the waitress that our food was unacceptable! It took three request to get on of the dinners taken off of the tab. They wanted to substitute another item, but we knew if the enchiladas were not good, nothing else would be. I would not suggest this place at all!! It only good for people brought up on tasteless, hot Mexican food.

AMAZING!!! Location is great, its right off 635 & NorthWest. Very clean, in & out. Hospitality is GREAT! The waitresses reminded me of my Great Grandma, by the way they were dressed. Adorable! You were welcomed & greeted at the door with big smiles! The decor is so homelike. Very comfy & welcoming! The food is great as well! Service was amazing, quick, food was hot, fresh! You have to try it! Oh and the entertainment! Again AMAZING! There was a live Mariachi band. Which also were great! My family & I will definitely return to Coquitas Mexican Restaurant! Thankyou guys!
