- Dental ExaminationDaily oral hygiene is vital in preventing the onset and growth of gum disease. Brushing and flossing keep teeth free from plaque-generating bacteria. In addition, it is important to visit the dentist regularly for professional cleanings and examinations.

- FillingsIf you have a cavity, you’re not the only one. According to one survey, over 85% of Americans have had at least one tooth affected by decay by the age of 40. We give you the option of choosing a durable composite resin filling that more closely matches the color of your teeth or a silver amalgam filling to seal a cavity.
- Resin CompositeInlays / Onlays / White Fillings Inlays, Onlays and Fillings are restorations that are made to teeth that have a mild to moderate amount of decay. They can be made of composite resin material, porcelain, or gold by a dental laboratory. Once completed, they will be bonded to the tooth. - CrownsAfter researching options online, I booked an appointment for my girlfriend with Dr. Itskovitch at the Gaithersburg location for a lengthening procedure and two crowns. She had a last minute work issue come up on the day of her appointment, and had to call the office to try to reschedule with only a few hours notice. The receptionist was wonderful - she called the other people with appointments around the same time to see if they could change to allow my girlfriend's appointment to be moved to later. The appointment was moved and Dr. Itskovitch even stayed late to finish the lengthening procedure. I'm not trying to encourage folks to change their appointments last minute - this instance was a true necessity - but we really appreciated the effort put in by the office since I know they didn't have to. Further, the quality of care was great and the prices for the crowns and lengthening were reasonable for the procedures undertaken (at least compared to prices in DC). The office also takes CareCredit, which can help with spreading out the cost of procedures without interest for a period of time.
- BridgesGaps left by missing teeth eventually cause the remaining teeth to rotate or shift into the empty spaces, resulting in a bad bite. The imbalance caused by missing teeth can also lead to gum disease and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders.
- Dental BondingTooth bonding is dependent on the artistic ability of the dentist, since the work is done “freehand,” without taking impressions or using a laboratory. The tooth must be color matched, sculpted, and polished to produce a beautiful and natural looking result.
- Restorative DentistryMetal-based crowns have also been known to erode along the gumline, exposing a dark line of metal at the base of the tooth. We use only metal-free crowns in our restorative dentistry procedures. Our patients often report that friends and family can’t tell their crowns from their natural teeth, and that they are confident their bite is stronger because of the porcelain crowns. - Root Canal TreatmentA root canal is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or becomes infected. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp are removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. Without treatment, the tissue surrounding the tooth will become infected and abscesses may form.
- Periodontal SurgeryAlthough a gummy smile is considered a normal variation of human anatomy, many people with gummy smiles are very self-conscious when smiling. Fortunately, these smiles can be corrected with simple periodontal surgery procedures. We can safely modify the position and shape of this gum so that more of your natural enamel and less gum shows when you smile.

- Tooth ExtractionsTooth Extraction: Studies have shown that patients who have experienced a tooth extraction subsequently lose 40-60% of the bone surrounding the extraction site during the following three years. Loss of bone results in what is called a “bone defect”.
- Bone GraftingBone grafting is often closely associated with dental restorations such as bridge work and dental implants. In the majority of cases, the success of a restoration procedure can hinge on the height, depth, and width of the jawbone at the implant site. When the jawbone associated with missing teeth shrinks, or has sustained significant damage, the implant(s) cannot be supported on this unstable foundation and bone grafting is usually recommended.
