The 17th most active commercial developer in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, according to the Washington Business Journal, Buchanan Partners has developed a portfolio of more than 3 million square feet of commercial property in the six years since its 1998 founding. The portfolio includes office, industrial, flex and retail space projects that have been developed, acquired, approved, or under construction. Buchanan Partners also has acquired, planned or developed more than 600 acres of commercial land. Buchanan's best-known developments include Lakeside at Loudoun Tech, a 315,000 square foot Class A office complex in Sterling, Va., that won top awards from the Greater Washington Commercial Association of Realtors, the northern Virginia chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, and the National Commercial Builders Council. Buchanan Partners is developing the first phase of the 450,000 square foot Heritage Hunt Commercial Park in Prince William County and the second phase of the 560,000 square foot Dulles Trade Center I flex/office condominium complex west of Washington Dulles International Airport.
