- Medical Weight LossKnee pain caused by arthritis is a very common problem. First line treatments for arthritic knee pain include weight loss, physical therapy, and injections, followed by total knee replacement. When these treatment options fail, or a patient is not a candidate for a total knee replacement, radiofrequency ablation neurotomy of three nerves in the knee can be performed by Dr. Kenneth Lewis.
- Family PracticeFirst, we want to talk about the Family Health West Outpatient Procedure Center. This is where we perform each and every interventional pain procedure we perform. This outpatient procedure center is located at the Colorado Canyons Hospital — 2460 Patterson Rd, Unit 4A, Grand Junction, Colorado.
- DiarrheaFecal incontinence, also known as bowel incontinence or accidental bowel leakage, is a disorder characterized by the inability to control bowel movements. This can range from mild difficulties to severe issues, resulting in a lack of ability to control stool. Depending on the severity, this may manifest as being unable to store stool in the rectum, or as failing to sense when it is time to use the bathroom.

- Mental HealthFor those who struggle with fecal incontinence (FI), daily life can be extremely frustrating. Constant trips to the bathroom make it nearly impossible to enjoy your favorite activities, and the anxiety related to accidental leakage can negatively affect your mental health. Historically, treatment options for this condition have been limited and challenging, often being insufficient to produce long-lasting relief for patients.

- UltrasoundStem cell injections are performed using imaging guidance such as an ultrasound or fluoroscopy. This ensures the accurate placement of the stem cells. Once the affected area is sterilized and anesthetized, the stem cells are injected and begin regenerating and strengthening the weakened, damaged tissues. If you’re suffering from chronic pain or any of the other diseases or illnesses listed above, stem cell therapy may offer the natural relief you need. - Wound CareIf you received sedation, do not drive for the remainder of the day. Avoid soaking in a hot tub, pool, or bath for at least two days following your procedure. You may remove any bandages or dressings four hours following your procedure. You may shower at this point. Please remove all bandages before showering. If you have received a spinal cord simulator you will have special wound care instructions that should be followed.

- Sports MedicinePRP is used to treat a variety of different conditions from sports injuries to chronic conditions like arthritis. Because platelets cause your body to begin the healing process, when injected, they accelerate the healing time needed for torn tendons, muscles, and conditions like tendonitis by triggering that healing process to begin. And, because PRP can act as an anti-inflammatory, in these specific cases it relieves pain as well. PRP carries these traits in chronic conditions and spinal injuries as well making it useful for bulging discs, nerve damage, arthritis, and several other conditions. It is a well-rounded healing aid and pain relief. In some cases, PRP can even prevent surgery. For information on what conditions we often treat with PRP, contact our office.
