      California Women Infants and Children is a supplemental nutrition program for low-income groups. It is offered to pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women and children less than 5 years of age. The program s services include nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and medical care referrals. The program also provides nutritious food items that include peanut butter, milk, dry beans, peas, cheese, eggs, iron-fortified cereals, infant formula and juices. California Women Infants and Children also offers services to working families. The program provides services to participants for a period of two years. Its Web site provides details on qualifying income levels. The program s office is located in Fresno, Calif.
