It was founded in 1989 as the Dispute Settlement Center under the Better Business Bureau system. The center helps to resolve various problems without attending court cases. BBB Mediation Services staff and volunteers are trained to help people resolve problems and settle disputes. Its mediators provide coaching on negotiation skills. The center s dispute resolution specialists offer advice and encouragement. BBB Mediation Services runs the Stanislaus County Mediation Center, which is a joint program with Project Sentinel. It serves Fresno and Kern counties in California.
