LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! My FAVORITE sushi place in Richmond! Fish has been fresh every time, service is good, atmosphere is cool, and its not expensive! Even without the gift certificate I will DEFINITELY be back!

Food was delicious, the seafood sauce is to die for

Went there with a friend who's been raving about it for months, and I must say it did not disappoint. We had the hibachi for dinner... splitting a shrimp and a chicken entree. Delicious. Had a sushi roll upstairs with our sake, also delicious. Had a wasabi mary after dinner, and it was amazing. Wow, I really liked this place, can't wait til I'm back in Richmond so I can go again!

Love Kobe, some of the best rolls in town. We eat lunch at Kobe at least twice a week. Service is sometimes slow but worth the wait.

Kobe Japanese Steak and Sushi is a great restaurant. It's located in the Shockoe Bottom area, where the night-life is booming. The Kobe restaurant is split into upper and lower levels -- upper level serve sushi and traditional japanese cuisine along with a bar, whereas lower level serve hibachi cuisine. Their sushi is prepared by a skilled Japanese Sushi chef and the quality and detail of their sushi entrees are top-etched. The traditional menu just has been revamped and it is simply amazing. If you have yet to try Japanese fusion cuisine, Kobe is the place to go. I recommend the Filet Minion with Truffle sauce. The downstairs offer a wide menu where the food is cooked and served on a hibachi grill. I must admit the hibachi is not the BEST I have had ( I am a hibachi chef ), customers won't regret anything. The hibachi chefs at Kobe are one of the finest in the Richmond area and their entertainment will keep you amused throughout the night. The prices are a bit higer than usual restau

Delicious ! Very good sushi roll menu with very accurate picture. Large selection of sushi for any kind of taste. We arrived at 2:04 and the restaurant was closing at 2, they accepted us and we had a wondergul lunch. If we come back to Richemond, we will definately come back

was in town for a business trip in fredericksburg and heard about Kobe from the restaurant concierge and decided to give it a try. The food was amazing and I was stuffed, I took the rest to go and ate it for lunch the next day. Try the filet & chicken!

This has been my second time at Kobe and as usual, it was AMAZING! My children loved watching the chefs cooking on the grill. The service was wonderful. Even the manager came by to check how things were. The prices are reasonable for all the food they give you. I can never finish mine and have had to take it to go. But the main reason I go is for the sushi. It is definitely the best in the area because it is so fresh and there are so many options to choose from. I had also gone for Valentines day and it was packed, so I suggest making reservations if it is for a special occasion . Overall, I highly recommend Kobe if you want great food and a fun experience!

This was my second visit to the new Kobe, I went the first week it opened it was crazy packed and my experience was just ok. However I went tonight friday it was busy but not super packed and the service was great. The food is amazing, I must say the quality and taste of their food is the best. The steak is so juicy and tender and the scallops amazing. I must say this is my favorite steakhouse even compared to longhorn down the street

I just visited Kobe's new location last night and must say I was definitely pleased! They stayed open past their closing time to accommodate our table of 12 and the food was amazing! Also the managers came around to see how we were doing multiple times and made conversation with our kids. I must say I was very pleased

Ate there two weeks ago. Service was a little slow but food made up for it.

We love the increased space in the sushi section! We prefer to interact with our chef and therefore try new items. The chef was a delight and his sushi/ sashimi creations were fresh and flavorful. We anticipate less than favorable atmosphere since the alcohol bar is joined to the sushi section. It's difficult to enjoy a meal while patrons waiting to be seated are jostling into each other & therefore you because the chairs are so uncomfortably close.
