I have had better food at a taco bell. Queso was something undescribable. They should stick to Rotel and Velvetta.

Order the Queso, throw back some Margarita's and loosen up man you are at LaPaz! I can smell their signature scent from San Francisco. Old Man me orders the cheese enchildeas and chicken taco, Dad goes for the cheese enchildea with guac tostada, Mama goes for the special and sis normally heads for the Fajita I feel like I am ten years old again. Gotta love LaPaz! Get their early on the weekend if you don't feel like waiting, or chill out, put your name down, drink some of those signature Margs and catch up with friends and Family!

Great margaritas, salsa. this is a wonderful Frederick landmark offering the best margaritas and salsa in town. a great patio and a good offering for a variety of ages - even babies!

This is by far my favorite restaurant in the downtown area. The atmosphere is fun and entertaining, the location is amazing, and the food has a fun American twist to it. I hear many people negatively criticize the food here, but I tend to disagree. It's not your traditional Mexican taste, and some items may have a simple taste/feel to them, but overall it's a fun menu, at a great price that has something for everyone. If you go to LaPaz you need to order a bowl of their queso dip with the complimentary chips and salsa. I've been trying to duplicate this queso for years and am still unsuccessful. As far as entres; the Fish Tacos, Shrimp Quesadilla, Chicken Flautas, and Mixed Fajitas are all great choices. They even make a really good cheese burger. La Paz has been my favorite restaurant in the area for years. Back in the old cramped building it was quaint and felt exclusive--albeit your typical hole in the wall floor plan. The new location struggled for a while but I have to say that I believe La Paz has more than redeemed itself. The salsa is amazing. Not terribly spicy, it looks fresh, tastes fresh, and has a good chunky to juicy ratio. Also, the chicken flautas are ALWAYS a win for me. I've had delicious margaritas here years ago but the last time was only so-so. Bartender pours with a heavy hand though! Staff is friendly and sufficient. No frills. Good place to take family or friends. And, I can proudly say as a resident of Central Texas, I would bring any of my Native Texan friends to La Paz!

Salsa is always my biggest critques with Mexican restaurants and La Paz really went out of their way to make it yummy and interesting at the same time. The menu has a lot to choose from. The staff was great!

I've been eating at this place since before it moved here from its previous location behind some buildings. That would have been about eight years ago. I'd like to say I go there every time I'm in Frederick, but that's not entirely true. I actually go there nearly every time I'm in downtown Frederick if I possibly can, and usually I get guacamole and or Fajitas. The last time I was there, November 2011, I ordered "crispy wings" and they were possibly the best crispy wings I've ever tasted. I've never been disappointed by anything I've ordered or sampled there. IMPORTANT! You *need* to know this if you plan on having lunch there. It seems that in summer they utilize their outdoor seating, and in evenings they use the main restaurant area, but in Winter and Daylight they use neither their outdoor seating nor their main restaurant area. Great location down town. But the food is not really Mexican. Maybe if you have never had Mexican food before you might like it. I'm from Texas and this food is pathetic. I will never go again. Any of the Mexican restaurants in town are better. Trust me.

great food, great service, great patio. had my rehearsal party there and they were great to our very large group.

After hearing raves a group from work decided to go for lunch. We didnt realize that it would turn into a 2 and a half hour lunch!!!! We didnt have to wait for a seat, we had to ask the bartender (not the server) for drinks twice. The service was horrible for being a slow day and the food wasnt that great either. We probably wont be going back there again after that.
