I had a bad experience at store number 226 in Fort Oglethorpe, GA. An employee, who I was later told was the store manager was unnecessarily rude and hostile to me. I did leave two pairs of shoes out on the floor which I guess wasn't the best thing for me to do. However,my plan was to look at another pair and then decide between the different ones. All of the shoes are in the same back corner so I did not think it would be a problem for me to compare the shoes. This seems to be what started the whole ordeal. I guess that made her angry because she immediately came behind me and put the shoes away. She was slamming the boxes and her general mannerism felt very aggressive to me. Although it bothered me I decided to ignore it and try to finish with my shopping. I wish, in hindsight that I would have left. I picked up a ladder that was blocking the shoes I wanted to look at and set it right beside a white table which was directly behind me. The same employee who had already made me feel so uncomfortable came behind folded the later up and as she passed by me she hit my right elbow. I am sure that was not her intentions, at least one would hope, but she never acknowledged in anyway that she had hit me. Once again it was her mannerism and body language that made me very uncomfortable. The slamming of the ladder and the way she stormed right by me when she could have just went another way or left it sitting there so I could look at the shoes. I looked at her and said, "you hit me with that." I am not sure what she said at that point. I think she may have apologized but I honestly can not remember. She at this point was obviously very angry. Did it kill me that she hit me with the ladder? Definitely not. However, if I hit someone with a ladder I would apologize at least. At that point, I asked her what her name was to which she mumbled something and I asked her again for her name and she walked off. I would not have purchased anything from this store but due to time constraints this was my only option. I dreaded the whole checkout situation because I didn't know where she had gone and did not want to have anymore contact with her. During checkout I asked another employee for the name of the employee. I was given her name and told she was the store manager. None of the employees had a name badge, so as a consumer you have no way to know their name nor their position with the company. I guess if I treated a customer that way I wouldn't want to wear a name badge either. Her attitude and her demeanor were not appropriate for any employee but as the store manager she is setting a terrible example. I was with my mother and neither one of us were greeted or asked if we needed help the entire time we were in the store. I would at least suggest the company have employees wear a badge with their name and position with your company. I guess I should not have left shoes out but I didn't intend to leave them and I never dreamed it would make someone so angry. I have never been so uncomfortable in a retail environment in my life. I was told her name was Anastasia. I will be calling the number on the receipt to speak with someone regarding her behavior.
