      The Fort Myers Police Department s mission is to provide a responsive police presence that improves the quality of life and builds problem-solving partnerships with the community. Through its investigations division, the department is responsible for investigating reports of crime, apprehending suspects and taking an active role in tracking repeat offenders. Its identification office coordinates all photographic and fingerprint needs of the department, including the photographing of people arrested and the fingerprinting of citizens applying for certain jobs. Fort Myers Police Department s evidence section coordinates the safe storage of all evidence collected in the investigation of crimes. Fort Myers Police Department is headquartered in Fort Myers, Fla.
