I took my Seiko watch in for a new battery and was told I needed a whole new mechanism. I agreed since it had been acting up, skipping seconds and losing time-even with a new battery.The young man working there said it would be $45-$50. I said fine, please fix. The first time I went to pick it up my second hand was black instead of gold. I was being charged $50. I requested the second hand be put back to the original color of gold (like the rest of the hands). The second time I went to pick it up I was told it would be $60. He complained about not making any money on the transaction (not my problem). And by the way, I never once received a call letting me know what the actual cost would be or that my watch was ready when I was told I would be called. I would not recommend taking items there to be fixed. It was only afterwards that other people I knew told me their stories of misfortune. I was told the man that fixes watches also works with other jewelers in the area.
