      About Mount The Mount Bethel Baptist Church was established in 1954 by Rev. H.J. Everett, Deacon Paul E. Everett, and a few members who were lead by the Word of God to make an impact in the Fort Lauderdale community. The founding members of Mount Bethel were so dedicated to ministry that many members opened their homes for worship services. Later, the church found a temporary home at the YMCA where the membership grew rapidly. During the 1950s Mount Bethel finally secured a building for worship and other activities. Since becoming the senior pastor in 1985, Dr. Glover led in the completion of a multi-million dollar church building. Under the leadership of Dr. C.E. Glover, Mount Bethel Baptist Church has experienced tremendous growth, going from a church with no staff to a ministry with over seventy full-time employees. Not only has the ministry prospered but through the vision of Dr. Glover, the ministry has expanded to reach members of the community that might be considered as the least, the lost, and the left out. The foundation of our work is found in Luke 4: 18, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poorto set at liberty them that are bruised. And Matthew 25: 40, Verily I say unto you, In as much as you have done unto the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me. In 1990, Mount Bethel Christian Academy was founded, which provides young people in K-3 through Sixth grade a quality education in an environment conducive to learning. Most of the students who attend the Christian Academy score an average of one and a half grades above grade level on every standardized test. In addition to recognizing the importance of education, Dr. Glover saw a need to minister to those in the community who may otherwise have no means of advocating for themselves. In 1993, the Mount Bethel Human Services Corporation, Inc was established. In 1997, New Visions Community Development Corporation was established to assist first time homebuyers in realizing their dream of homeownership. Mount Bethel Christian Bookstore was established to provide a service not only to our church but to people in the community. As we continue to fulfill our Mission, Vision, and Purpose we are looking to expand so that we can better serve God through serving God's people.
