The Minnesota Veterans Home provides chaplain, dietetic, nutritional, rehabilitative and pharmaceutical services. It features barbershops, beauty salons, libraries, exercise rooms and general stores. The Minnesota Veterans Home provides transportation, spouse support, family counseling and volunteer services. Established in 1978, it offers a variety of services for people who suffer from chemical dependency, mental health illnesses, dual disorders and homelessness. The Minnesota Veterans Home also provides treatment for patients who suffer from Alzheimer s disease. Additionally, its facilities have more than 800 beds. The Minnesota Veterans Home maintains a wood shop that produces flag and memorabilia cases, plaques, signs and picture frames. It is administered by the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs.
