General Info
Dr. Bunting is a breast fellowship trained surgeon who completed her breast surgery fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine and Barnes Jewish Hospital. Prior to her fellowship, Dr. Bunting completed a one-year general surgery internship and a four-year general surgery residency at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. Dr. Bunting manages all types of breast disease, both benign and malignant, including new breast masses, nipple discharge, breast pain, breast cancer and abnormal mammograms. In addition, Dr. Bunting consults with high-risk patients, such as those with a family history of breast cancer or prior breast biopsies showing atypical findings. Dr. Bunting is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and surgeons, the Society of Surgical Oncologists, and the American Society of Breast Surgeons. Dr. Bunting is an avid runner and volunteers with Susan G. Komen for the Cure St. Louis, Young Women with Breast Cancer, and Score 1 for Health. Dr. Bunting has completed extensive training in Hidden ScarĀ® Breast Cancer Surgery, an advanced approach to removing breast cancer. She performs both Hidden Scar Lumpectomy/Partial Mastectomy and Hidden Scar Mastectomy procedures. During Hidden ScarĀ® Breast Cancer Surgery, the incision is made in the fold under the breast, around the edge of the nipple area or in the armpit, so the scar is less visible after breast surgery.
