Alcohol and Drug Services, a part of Fairfax County, Va., is dedicated to the reduction and eradication of alcohol and drug problems in the community. The department provides prevention and treatment services to youth, adults and family members. Its assessment and referral center provides assessment, evaluation and intake services for adults entering the center. Alcohol and Drug Services also provides specialized services to clients from the Spanish community. The department s community prevention division offers information, alternative programs and drug education to individuals, families, schools, businesses, civic groups and service providers. Additionally, it operates a volunteer and intern program that offers opportunities for individuals to participate in counseling and other community services.
