Founded in 1962, Hiwan Golf Club is a private golf and country club for the exclusive use of members. The club founded and hosted the Colorado Open from 1964 to 1991. While at Hiwan, the tournament became one of the nation s most successful state opens and earned more than $2 million for Craig Hospital in Englewood, Colo., the beneficiary of the tournament. Hiwan Golf Club hosts various charitable golf tournaments each year that are open to the public. The clubhouse and all club facilities are only open to members and their guests. Banquet and special event catering services, however, can be available to non-members. Former Masters winners who have played Hiwan include Sam Snead, Doug Ford, George Archer, Billy Casper, Charles Coody, Tommy Aaron, Fred Couples and Bob Goalby. Hiwan Golf Club is located in Evergreen, Colo.
