Former employee that witnessed things parents should considering about this daycare
Teachers are told to scream at children so they behave, i have worked in many children's centers this is not normal. The rooms were not set up appropriately for the different age groups. the toys are filthy. no changing tables meant diapers are changed on dirty bathroom floors. no floor stool for the children to stand on and wash their hands. The toys for the two year old room are too small for the age group. A two year old boy choked on one of these toys. before I could perform the Heimlich, he vomited the toy on to the floor. I told the director but don't believe she reported the incident to the parents. The small toys are still there.
The training toilets broke. human feces in the toilets for weeks we would catch the kids playing in the toilet everyday. repeated reminders to the director to get fixed led nowhere was told to put trash bag over toilet. There was no lock to keep kids out. it didn't work
There were suspicions of abuse, one child would show up with mysterious marks on his body, always afraid and uneasy any attempts to talk with him were followed by cowering on the floor. especially if asked to put a toy away. Director was told she responded by asking me to tell the parents. later in the month a child came to daycare with a massive rash covering the whole front and back of his body. suspected abuse again. the director wasn't going to do anything so I got advice from a friend while on break who advised me to report to CPS. five hours later, I was fired.
The daycare did make an attempt to cover up many of these issues just before state inspection.
