This hobby shop is what many picture in our mind what a true hobby shop should be. It has a very friendly and knowledgeable owner who is a real hobbyist himself. He knows what is available, how to use it, and make valid recommendations. He can help kids and others starting out by making them at ease and asking them questions about what they want to accomplish.
Repairs can be made, orders can placed for just what the customer wants, and a good selection of model trains, cars, ships, and airplanes is present along with paints, tools, materials, and other kits.
This shop has always been a stop for me whenever I’m in town for decades. Lionel O gauge and HO gauge trains of various manufacturers are my personal favorites along with hobby supplies, books, magazines, videos, etc.
This is a good place for advice, friendly banter, and jokes. This is what shopping used to be like.

Amazing that this place is still around. Remember going to ABC in the late 80's. Bought a KB61 from here. Anyplace that has been around this long gets 5 stars

I'll make this short for you. I've had bad experience with service at two local hobby shops in another state, but I've been going to this hobby shop since 1991 and have gotten a great service from the owner who knows how to listen. This store has made my modeling experience very pleasant for many years so why not try visit this store and you will find out. Be forewarned, he will make you laugh until your lungs hurt.

ABC Hobby Craft is one of Evansville's icons from days gone by. I remember going to ABC Hobby when I was a kid and the store was downtown. The downtown store had Lionel Trains and a huge slot car track that the bigger kids and adults used. So much for old times and back to the point....



The new ABC Hobby Craft has an excellent assorment of HO trains, Lionel Trains, Model Kits and a nice assortment of hardware and model paint. The biggest attraction is a friendly and knowledgeable owner. He always has the newest items from Athearn, Atlas, MRC and other manufacturers. He is great with special orders and many items are in his shop shortly after they are ordered. Any delays are the fault of the warehouse and not ABC Hobby.



ABC remains a fun place to visit and spend a few minutes or a few hours. It is almost as much fun as it was over 40 years ago when I went there as a kid. I went there with my Dad. Now I am the Dad and take my Son.
