Bennison's Bakery, based in Evanston, Ill., has been a North Shore Chicago institution since 1938 offering a full-line retail bakery, with emphasis on custom decorated cakes, cookies and European-style pastries. It s custom made cakes are specially decorated for baby showers, retirements, promotions, wedding showers and birthdays. Bennison s provides a wide selection of cakes, including yellow sponge cake, devil's food, banana, spice, German chocolate, carrot cake and chocolate mousse. The bakery also offers a range of breads that include baguette, six grain, Hallah, Italian bread, pain au levain sourdough bread, white bread, whole wheat, Swedish limpa and plain rye bread.
