I strongly believe that every person should take responsibility for protecting themselves, their families and maybe, if the circumstances are right, even a third party. It's like the old joke says, "When seconds count, the cops are only minutes away". It is not their job to protect you -- it's YOUR job. Therefore, I believe the solution is to get armed. Learn about guns, get training, and practice, practice, practice. The first step is to take a Missouri Concealed Carry Class. This class will introduce you the basics of why we should carry, where you can carry and where you can't, handgun safety, how to select a firearm, the fundamentals of handgun shooting, situational awareness, and the justified use of deadly force. I teach in my home located in Hoene Springs, MO just seven miles south of Eureka . My classes are small - usually no more than six or seven. This allows me to personalize each class based on the experience level of the students. In fact, I'll even do a class for just a husband and wife. I cover all of the topics required by the State of Missouri regardless of experience. This is not a tactical class. I do not believe that it is possible to cover the basics and also get into advanced shooting skills. The price for the class is $125. That includes everything including firearms and ammunition - all you need to bring is something to eat for lunch. You can use your own eye and hearing protection if you would like or you can use mine.
