It amazes me how many positive...

It amazes me how many positive reviews are out there about this studio, mostly from people who have had their child involved in a class for only a month or two.

From my experience with them I can say that in my opinion this place is more about selling contracts and recruiting new students than teaching. Their marketing materials claim they will work miracles with your child. We signed our child up for one year (the minimum time period offered) and we were not too impressed with the results. He got bored with the repetition rather quickly. Before signing up they hounded us with phone calls and mailings. They also showed up at our child's school in an attempt to get his teachers and bus drivers to sign up for lessons as well.

They ask the parents and grandparents to participate in some classes and then hand them white belts at the end of the class and offer them few "free" lessons. This came across to me as another sales tactic to get parents of students interested in signing a contract.

Their staff seems to appear at any event in town with kids present so kids can enter a drawing for "free" lessons while obtaining the entrant's contact information so they can call you and mail you their sales stuff. Our child's normal classes were also cancelled several times so that they could march in parades and show up at events at the local mall. They also wanted our 4 year old to participate in a tournament that cost upwards of $100. Even students who did not wish participate were required to rehearse for this event. 4 year old kids in a martial arts tournament? It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

Their minimum contract term is 1 year and just recently went up to $200 per month. That's $2,400 per year to give our 4 year old a few half hour lessons per week. My advice is to look for a school that does not lock you into a contract and is more about teaching martial arts than selling.

I do think they were nice but very business driven. Affordable they are not. Very expensive. For those who can afford high prices this is great - but for those who cannot afford such prices - I think you can find other martial art communities that have integrity and affordability so that many different walks of life can participate - and feel empowered.

I have to share with all of you what a wonderful thing you've done with Teacher appreciation. The impact you've had is still being talked about at my son's school.

The staff and students were very impressed with such a professional and handsome man coming to their school to honor a teacher. That teacher is truly a wonderful teacher who supported my son starting at Integrity and has noticed his steady progress in confidence ever since.

I have to share that two classmates of son's just left and they (twins) were not only the natural leaders of the classroom, but also his "girlfriends". The vacuum created is just like a lesson from our IMAX program in respect. He is more confident, as I said before, but also very polite and respectful. He is a brilliant kid and the other students seek him for help. He is becoming one of the leaders in his class now. He is exhibiting some of the leadership qualities just like our discussions would explain. It's amazing.

I have to say that I have received far more from Integrity than I ever felt possible. I have seen good things in so many of the kids and even in the conversations of the adult learners. They share personal stories of temperance and control becoming part of their ability. That is because of the daily efforts of each one of the sensai.

In a world that seems to be falling apart, you've collected a group of wonderful, gifted, talented people who have been given a path that truly changes people. I want to say thank you. I feel at home at Inegrity Martial Arts and I never anticipated that.

Warm regards.

If I sat here and wrote for an hour I could still not say enough positive things about this studio. I have four kids in the program and I am also a student myself. Integrity has truly changed our lives.

I started a few months after having my fifth child. I have gone from feeling nervous and awkward to feeling physically capable and confident - all because of Karate and the encouragement of the instructors.

My oldest son has been taking classes for two years and the rest of us for a year. My oldest son has never liked sports and has finally found something he loves that he can excel at. I have kids in all levels from Small Samurai to Advanced Powerplay. I can honestly say that next to church, Integrity Martial Arts has become the most improtant thing we do together as a family.

Most martial arts programs teach kids about respect and self-discipline, but where can you go that they will teach your kids about generosity, community service, tolerance and so many other values that we try to instill at home? Where else can a child get kudos in front of the class for being kind to a younger brother or sister?

The instructors not only care about the character development of the kids, they regularly check up with you. This is not just lip service. These senseis are not only teachers, they are mentors who truly care about the kids...as evidenced by all the hugs they get from them. The relationships that the kids form with these intructors...who are the most positive of role models....will influence them for a lifetime

I would also like to add that besides the regular classes, they teach weapons, sparring and sword fighting. There are also monthly clinics for such things as diplomacy and confidence building. They have camps and sleepovers and picnics. There is always something fun for the kids to do.

I cannot believe that anyone would write a negative review because the studio has to market itself to try to gain new students. They are not running the studio for free and these wonderful services need to be funded financially in order to continue. I do not think it is high pressure to send somebody things in the mail. And this studio does not charge any more than other studios.

And to my knowledge, the kids march TOGETHER in one or two parades all year...Memorial Day and Fourth of July.... and it's alot of fun. They do it to commemorate the holiday. And classes have never been canceled for someone to go to the mall.

And as far as the tournaments, it is just the same as a dance studio having a recital... it is for fun and for the kids to show off their moves...there is no pressure at all and the kids love it. My kids really look forward to it.

And I also have a baby around a year old that I bring with me all the time. You cannot find a more family oriented place than this studio. I feel truly sorry for anyone who has denied themselves the wonderful experience of becoming part of the Integrity Martial Arts Family. This place is truly unique...you can't just go somewhere else and find the same things they offer here. This is not just a martial arts studio, it's so much more. This is truly a caring community of good people and you just don't find that anymore.

Dear Future Leaders...

I would recommend Integrity Martial Arts to anyone who ultimately is trying to become the best version of themselves that they can be. Not only does this studio provide marial arts lessons but it doubles as a leadership school, creating a future generation of leaders. To make it more personal, since I began training there I have gotten more confident, I have developed better self control an chose to except a mind set that I can do anything I put my mind to. I look up to and admire each and every member of the staff for all that they do for ther students. All and all, I would recommend Integrity Martial Arts because of their martial arts program, their leadership training, and the family that you join once you walk through the door.

Beware

We walked in to Integrity Martial Arts excited to sign our 7 year old son up for lessons. We knew this was something we wanted our son to experience. We didn't need to be sold on the idea - we just needed to find a place we liked and they had a customer. We were impressed by our initial visit, how our son was talked to by the instructors and the thoroughness of how the program was explained to us. We left excited an my son couldn't wait to go back. I was however disappointed that I couldn't take home the prices/cost of the lessons to my husband because we were told "oh we'll give that to you next time". So we had another appointment which we could make due to sick kids and we received phone call after phone call to reschedule. Again- no pressure was needed because this was something WE were seeking and knew we wanted to do. So we arranged our second "lesson" and we once again pressed by the instructor and how excited our son was. But once again we were not allowed or given the cost even after asking. I should have mentioned I took our son for the first appointment and my husband took him to the se jobs appointment. We both couldn't go because we have a 1 year old at home. So now we have spent lots of time and still have no sea how much it costs. We were asked to come back and asks that both parents be there. Again - nearly impossible wig a 1 year old at 6-7pm who is ready to turn into a pumpkin. So my husband went again and they didn't want to give him the prices saying "there is more behind it and wanted to explain the pricing to both if us. Now we are just annoyed. I told my husband don't leave there without a price sheet. He finally got one. Now I know why they don't want us to see it. Very expensive and a contract has to be signed. Now we probably would have moved forward on our own if we had just received the prices and been able to initially discuss it. But we has received so many voicemails and mailings and after not getting prices even after asking I think is just rude. A customer should not feel pressured which we did. A customer should know he cost of service and be able to decide on our own. Had they been less pushy and more honest we would have signed up no question. But his place calls and calls and mails and mails and hides and really? This is how you run a business? The sad thing is I felt they had a good program to offer. They had a customer based on my initial impression. But they lost me before we even started. We found another place to send our son. They need to learn how to market themselves. I have friends who experienced the same. I'm hopeful they lay off and let their service sell itself.

The name says it all!!

Integrity Martial Arts is a great place to watch your child grow into a young adult! Our daughter has only been enrolled for a few months and is already excelling at showing and demonstrating the three core beliefs of the studio- respect, self-control and discipline. The instructors are amazing, I knew this was the place for us when I first walked in and the first instructor to greet us got right down to my daughters level and addressed her directly. Everyone at the studio is pleasant and helpful and the values and beliefs taught are just what kids are in need of in today's society. I highly recommend this studio!!!

I've had a very excellent experience at Integrity. It lives up to the name, very good staff and good focus on character development as well as self defence. I have also been thrilled with the great community that exists at Integrity Martial Arts. The senseis are very friendly to everyone, and every child I have seen stick with the program has benefited greatly. It has been very much so worth the investment.
