Established in 1970, Pine Grove is a residential school that is spread over an area of more than 35 acres. It serves children and adolescents with autism and pervasive developmental disorders between the ages of 6 and 18. The school also offers various opportunities for recreational, vocational and educational activities. Pine Grove has a staff of a business manager, coordinator, nurse, supervisor and therapists. The school provides educational, assistance and behavior management services. Additionally, it offers psychological services, as well as speech, language and prevocational therapies. The school is governed by a board of directors. Pine Grove is located in Elgin, S.C.
