      Pediamed Night Clinics opened its first location in East El Paso (George Dieter) six years ago due to an extreme shortage of physicians. Pediamed administrators estimate that for El Paso's population, 160 pediatricians are needed, but there are only 55. Pediamed offers an alternative to the emergency rooms for parent's who do not have the ability to get off work and wait in their child's pediatrician office when their child is sick. Pediamed expanded to Northeast El Paso in March 2012
