- X-raysDr. Kane and our team use a number of advanced oral imaging tools at our office, including the Sirona ORTHOPHOS SL 3D. This state-of-the-art imaging machine takes 2D images, panoramic X-rays, and 3D images to ensure that Dr. Kane has the information and images he needs to provide accurate diagnoses and precise treatments.
- Oral Cancer ScreeningOn average, oral cancer kills one person each hour. Your overall health is very important to Dr. Kane and his staff, which is why an oral cancer screening is part of your routine dental check-up. By acting early on, the chances of successful treatment rise significantly.
- FillingsWhen a tooth is damaged by decay, it needs some assistance to gain its strength back. That is where a filling comes into play. In the past, patients may have received amalgam fillings that had a noticeable, metallic/black appearance when placed, but thankfully, that method is a thing of the past at Kane Family Dentistry. Instead Dr. Kane is happy to offer composite fillings that are durable, conservative and have an aesthetic appearance.
- Resin CompositeAs stated already, the composite resin used for tooth-colored fillings accurately matches both the shade and texture of your natural teeth, resulting in a virtually invisible appearance.
- VeneersIf your smile is suffering from different aesthetic issues all at once, pursuing several different treatments to correct them all may be a bit overwhelming. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could give some or even most of your teeth a dramatic makeover with one simple procedure? Porcelain veneers allow Dr. Kane to do just that. Veneers are thin pieces of ceramic material that is strictly designed to match your natural smile and enhance its beauty, giving you that flawless smile you have been looking for.
- CrownsWhen dealing with badly damaged teeth, it’s important to have a restoration placed as soon as possible so that their structure and health can be preserved. We know for many patients, it’s important to maintain a smile that looks complete and natural. At Kane Family Dentistry, we provide our patients with both important qualities in our all-ceramic crown, bridges, inlays, and onlays. We can make majority of our crowns in office with our up to date technology of a CEREC OMNICAM. Please see the link below to see how it works.
- BridgesDental bridges, on the other hand, is an excellent option for patients suffering from tooth loss with the sturdy solution they have been looking for! Dr. Kane will fit customized crowns on the abutment teeth, or the two teeth on each side of the gap, to anchor the bridge appliance. He will then take an impression of the space, and submit specifications to the dental lab. While you wait for your permanent replacement, you will be fitted with a temporary bridge. Once your hand-crafted teeth have arrived back in our office, the permanent bridge will be cemented in place. You will care for your new teeth as you would your natural teeth.

- Root Canal TreatmentThe American Association of Endodontists, state root canal therapy is the most feared dental procedure of all. In our society, that is not surprising. Root canals have been indicated as being painful and unbearable. Despite this stigma, root canal therapy is an overall pain-free, quick and comfortable procedure. In fact, after having a root canal, you pain should subside and can also prevent other complicated dental and overall health issues down the road. Here at Kane Family Dentistry, we can put your fears at ease.
- Deep CleaningIf your case has progressed to the next level, we will typically recommend scaling and root planning. This in-depth cleaning involves removing plaque and toxins from the roots of your teeth, as well as smoothing them out to keep bacteria from reattaching over time. We may also recommend a strong mouthwash and/or an electric toothbrush, which can help keep your smile in the healthiest condition as possible. In advanced situations Dr. Kane may need to recommend you to a specialist so you can receive surgical care.
- DenturesDentures have been the go-to method for tooth replacement for many, many years. If you have experienced significant tooth loss, dentures may be the right choice for you as well. Traditional dentures are customized to create an optimal, natural look while still maintaining a comfortable, secure fit.
