Bad News

On the FCS website they post a couple of reviews supposedly from customers who say it is so nice to see the maintenance man ""out there walking around their property"". We have this company and a maintenance man and after a year he is still walking, seems like he hardly does anything unless he absolutely has to and there are multiple repeated complaints! Our property has detriorated to the point of embarrassment since we have had FCS. If you are thinking about contracting with this company ask them for names of the properties they manage and go out and take a look. Don't just drive by, walk around the properties they manage and see what type of maintenance they really offer. Like the other reviews it has been a disaster and owners end up doing the maintenace to try to slow down the deterioration. These people seem to have no landscape knowledge or experience and they must have an abundant supply of maintenace people who do very little unless forced. Be careful of thier contracts, read the fine print. As the attorney who also posted a reveiw on this website you need to look out for questionable business practices.

Amen to all other negative reviews!

I signed up for a City Search account just so I could put my two cents in. They are rude, condescending, and, quite frankly, seem a little thick. All they care about is their money. I received my statement with 2 days to pay it before the due date. Because of medical bills, I didn't pay it right away. It hasn't even been 2 months and they slapped on a $50 collection fee that's going to ruin my high credit score! They are awful! (sigh) feels good to vent...

The worst HOA in the town stay away from them

This HOA is the worst in whole SLC, saying not happy with their service is not even enough. They don't do any job, our landscaping is dying the grass around my home is turning brown the sprinklers didn't work for more than one months last year, and this year they were not working yet once, after calling and calling and writing e-mails nothing we still can not get any information, we feel like is nothing we can do only let go everything to be destroyed and I would like to know for what we pay our monthly HOA fee? When the last year some tree and plants died they told us they are going to be replaced before the winter, but nothing have been done, I had wholes around my home for whole summer, so this spring I have bought new one, but this year they would be destroyed also, if every day I would not water myself. I have bought the home with maintenance free, because I do not have time to do it, but if HOAliving take cares of your community forget about maintenance free, you pay and do everything by yourself, it is just disaster.

Major disappointment and a waste of our fees!

We have had this company for two years. Our community has been in a constant state of decline since they became our management company. Our funds have been depleted with little to show for it. When they were hired we had a healthy reserve and our property was maintained in an excellent manner. SInce FCS our grounds look like a slum and the contractors they hire are substandard as far as the quality of work is concerned. Like I have read on other sites they tear out huge trees at the drop of a hat when there are other solutions to making sprinkler repairs, etc. They also seem to hire alot of their relatives to do work on the property therefore our complaints fall on deaf ears.

No Problems Here

I have read several poor reviews, but that hasn't been our experience with FCS at all. We had a company called REMS out of Provo managing our HOA and a developer who contributed to the problem by not properly following up on them. By the time homeowners got fed up enough to get attorneys involved we had $65,000 in un-collected HOA dues which REMS hadn't even placed liens on or anything, and we had the city just days away from shutting off our water because of a $65,000 past due account. Since hiring FCS our collections have been tackled and handled properly, our board has a personal account rep who we work closely with, all of our accounts payable are caught up, and we have over $30,000 in our reserve account. Yes we had to make a $500 assessment right after hiring them, but that was to help fix problems that were created prior to hiring them. They have managed our HOA wonderfully since then.

Worst Management Company Going!

In trying to do business with this company, I found one road block after another. The information I needed was unavailable in the normal course of business, and nobody would do anything to speed things up, plus they wanted to charge a fee to give too slow of service to even be useful. These guys are too big to give good customer service, and too fee oriented.

I have owned and watched this townhouse complex go down hill for the last two and half years. Having the HOA taken over once the devolopers sold was and still is a desaster!
{ We have seven owners, six of which life on site, three are officers of the HOA, the othier owners are investers who rent out thier units.}
Once the officers of the HOA were installed, they dismissed all contracks and hired cheaper providers to do the work.
The management firm FCS, is doing what they are able, but that is close to nothing. HOA fees have been increased. An extra fee being put in over three months to cover work that was never done.
Hired help is of very poor quality and nothing is kept up. No trees (trees and srubbs that are lefrt after most were pulled out becuse of some foolish reason.)) are not tended too. Carports are a muck (One needing replaced after being broken in half by a car), the weeds are out of control.No bark has been laid down as it was surpose to be after the pulling up of all trees.) Not to mention the watering system that is broken in so many places and needs major repair. ( not done by a relative of an officer, who knows little or nothing about the system)
We are living in a slum area. Those investers who rent out thier units (there are surpose to be only nine units rented, out of 26 there are only five lived in by thier owners!) do not pay the HOA fees because they say nothoing is ever done.
What a "" MESS"" I got myself into by buying here! At 67 years old, I wanted a place that would be kept up and look nice at all times. But not by me, but from the fees collected from the HOA. . Instead, I keep up the frunt carports, all trash, trim srubbs, wash down sidewalks and maintain one third of the up keep of said complex, when I am home. YET I STILL PAY $119. A MONTH TO DO IT!
Yes I stay involved, yes I want to do what I can, but come on, when is there going to be a stop to what is happening at Colonial Gardens? What are the Management co. and Offeicers doing to inprove my area? I can't seem to get accross to anybody what a mess this is!
My advise is stay clear of Colonial Gardens if you are thinking of buying here or even going to rent! You won't be happy!
I can't and won't even try to rate this community, the officers or the management firm!

Many problems and no solutions!

This company does not practice fair and legal dealings. I have heard many complaints from homeowners and tenants. The communication is poor and don't expect to get your call returned. There is no respect or integrity left in this company.
