Herrick Middle School provides a variety of educational services to more than 590 students in grade seven and eight. The school is named in honor of William Herrick, who served on the Downers Grove Board of Education for more than 30 years. Its academic curriculum includes several subjects, such as art, social studies, language arts, physical education, math, family and consumer science, music and science. The school has a team of counselors that provides individual and group counseling and classroom guidance. It offers several extracurricular activities, including geography bee competitions, yearbook, student council, and art, builders, spirit, drama, computer and journalism clubs. In addition, the school involves students in a range of sports activities, such as basketball, cross country, volleyball, and track and field. Located in Downers Grove, Ill., Herrick Middle School is a part of Downers Grove Grade School District 58.
