Hello, I am Carsten Peterson, I am a state licensed mold assessment consultant for the surrounding Greater Houston Area.I have been in the residential and commercial construction for over 40 years. Determining mold causation and location is one of my strong points. Mold is a part of natural environment in our area. Mold is usually associated with water damaged building materials. water leaks, improper drainage, AC problems, roof damage, structure damage etc. I only use modern technology: thermal imaging, Zefon air sampling, endoscopy, etc. to test your location. The process begins with examination of structure for apparent mold and obvious water damage. A thorough test for relative humidity levels and moisture content in walls, ceiling, and accessible surfaces. Air samplings are taken with a Zefron Bio-Pump and air monitoring cassettes. These cassettes sample a controlled amount of air and collect any microscopic particles for examination at a state certified laboratory. A report is written based on findings of inspection and mold spore counts. Conclusions of findings are sent to my client. These conclusions are translated to a protocol for remediation, if necessary. Otherwise, findings at the time of inspection are related with a final report. There are no products sprayed, no opening of any surfaces or mechanical devices are done, nothing but measuring for mold spore levels and measuring relative humidity and moisture content. A report is sent to client with recommendations on how to proceed.It's called a consultation.
