- AntsIf you’ve noticed small brown or black ants (ranging from 1/16 to 1/8 of an inch in length) crawling around your home, there’s a good chance they’re odorous house ants. These nuisance ants can also be identified by the unpleasant odor they emit when crushed, often described as a “rotten coconut” or “blue cheese” smell.

- FleasFleas are small, wingless parasites that feed on the blood of warm-blooded animals. They are 1/12 to 1/6-inches long, have “flattened” reddish-brown bodies, and hind legs that give them great jumping abilities.
- CockroachesBrown-banded cockroaches are light brown in color and have distinctive bands running across their wings and abdomens. They measure about ½ inch in length and are relatively small compared to American cockroaches.
- SilverfishSilverfish are silvery metallic bugs that have flat bodies that taper from head to rear, resembling a teardrop or fish. Typically, they are covered in scales. Minus their antennae and appendages, adult silverfish are approximately ½ - 1 inch in length.
- BeesCarpenter bees are large, solitary bees that are known for boring into wood to create nests. Measuring about one inch in length, these bees have shiny black abdomens and some species have yellow markings. Although they are often mistaken for bumble bees, there are not fuzzy like the latter.
- WaspsIn order to build their nests, paper wasps chew wood fibers and then mix them with their saliva to create a paper-like/pulpy substance. They then fashion this material into umbrella-shaped nests.
- TicksBlacklegged ticks, also called deer ticks, have relatively small, flat, oval-shaped bodies. They are reddish-brown to black in color. Like other arachnids, they have eight legs. Once engorged, female blacklegged ticks may appear larger and darker.
- CricketsCamel crickets, also known as cave crickets, spider crickets, or sprickets, have long hind legs and a humpbacked appearance, resembling a camel. These wingless crickets are generally tan, reddish-brown, or dark brown in color and have long antennae.
- EarwigsHouse spiders feed on a variety of insects, including flies, mosquitoes, earwigs, cockroaches, and other pests that they catch in their spider webs. If a web is not catching prey, these spiders will abandon it and create another web in another location.
- MosquitoesIf you're tired of mosquitoes driving you and your family indoors and are ready to reclaim your yard and outdoor living space, it's time to contact Harris Pest Control for seasonal mosquito control in South Carolina's Pee Dee and Grand Strand areas!

- YellowjacketsAlthough they are less aggressive than yellow jackets, paper wasps can be aggressive if their nests are threatened.
- Stink BugsBrown marmorated stink bugs have triangular or shield-shaped bodies. They are usually grayish-brown and often have a mottled pattern. Adult stink bugs range from about 1/4 to 3/4 inches in length.
- Stinging InsectsGrowing up to about an inch in length, paper wasps are often identified by their slender, elongated bodies that are less robust than other wasp species. Although color varies, these stinging insects often have a combination of black, brown, and yellow markings. Their transparent wings may have a smoky or brownish tint and their long legs dangle down as they fly.
